If a picture didn't come out as you expected, you can always make it look better with a specialized image editing software. The tools that PhotoPad Image Editor places at your disposal serve various purposes, from basic adjustments to applying and customizing effects. The best part is that it takes only a few clicks to perform any operation. Unlike other image editors, PhotoPad Image Editor was created with ease of use in mind.

The software is free for non-commercial use. It is available for Windows and Mac OS X and it can be installed almost instantly, with a single click. Furthermore, PhotoPad Image Editor doesn't use too much disk space and there is no need to install any prerequisite tools.

You can import several pictures and edit them separately. Loaded images are displayed in the lower region of the user interface, beneath the preview area. The software's editing tools are neatly categorized on a series of ribbon menus. Once selected, they will affect the currently displayed picture instantly. Selected tools are displayed in a column, on the right side of the interface, where you can adjust their effects, with sliders, counters and so on.

The software allows you to perform simple adjustments and corrections, like removing red-eye effects or changing the brightness, contrast, exposure, color temperature or other characteristics. You can also apply an auto-levels effect, which balances a picture's levels instantly, without any user input. In addition, PhotoPad Image Editor provides a series of predefined special effects, for converting pictures to sepia, negative or grayscale.

Other effects can give your pictures a vintage look, pixelate them, apply brick patterns or make them look like oil paintings. What's more, PhotoPad Image Editor allows you to apply effects to selected spots on your pictures. Creating panoramas, collages or mosaics are other possibilities. Besides saving the edited images on the hard drive, you can also share them on Flickr and Facebook or send them to someone by email.

Pros

The software includes a large number of editing tools and special effects. You can adjust the effects of each tool, without any difficulties. It is also possible to share the edited images over the Internet.

Cons

There are no flaws that need to be addressed. With PhotoPad Image Editor, it does not take more than a few clicks to give your pictures a completely new look.
